Let's Catch Up

Let's Catch Up

It has been a while since I last posted, and I apologize to everyone. I know AJ has good supporters who enjoy reading the updates. Although lately, there has not been much to share or converse about. You know all there is to know about us and what life has been like for the last 9 months.

AJ still has a busier schedule than I do. It feels like his providers list is multiplying, but I'm sure it's not. AJ has been growing and continuing to shock us all. He's discovering that despite his glasses being a pain to wear, my God, he can see! He also like to fiddle with his G-Tube. He knows that if he just grips it correctly and pulls hard enough, it'll pop right out. I am almost certain he has no idea he feeds through there. Either he's a curious kid or he has an evolving niche to 'provoke'. Far too soon to tell which one.

AJ's also finally enjoying tummy time and learning hand eye coordination. He's now able to independently soothe his itchy gums. He's found a liking for yogurt and applesauce, sometimes watermelon. I don't blame him. I also believe he just realized... he's a boy! I assume this, because he likes to play rough! Rolling from side to side on his toy mat and jerking his own head back and forth, is sure to make him chuckle and me panic. He even knows how to shoo his siblings out of his face when they start to annoy him.

His new thing is to let out a silent fart and grin when we ask, "Now who did that?". Sure, he still has his moments of pure agitation and discomfort, but it doesn't compare to how he was before. Besides, he's allowed to express his feelings and emotions in his own way, I'll accept that. However, I do think August has taught him how to go from a cute damsel in distress cry, to an over-projected high pitch scream. It's bordering the line of tantrum and spoiled. AJ's finding himself and where he fits in. I love it.

Now that we're all caught up, I am more interested in getting to know you and what endeavors you've come across or are dealing with. I'd like to remind everyone of the perks you have as a site member. Once your profile is created, you too can write blogs and post pictures. You can share as much as you want or as little; the choice is yours. It does not have to be related to any rare condition or birthing complications, as this is an Awareness Organization. I, myself, don't always share updates of AJ's gene disorder. In fact, majority of my blogs are about our journey and adjusting to my role as a mom of 4. I'd like to do more with the organization. Fundraisers, events, family game nights, etc.. But I need help from our supporters. What would you like to see more of? Read more about? What events do you enjoy?
